GRADE PLACEMENT

Moving between school systems can be confusing. To help place your child, please consult our table below. Class placement is based on your child's educational background and age on Sept 1st.

Although our school year follows a North American school calendar (mid August through May), we are happy to accept students at any time during the school year. Please note that students must be six when entering 1st Grade.

Student placement decisions for those coming from a different school calendar is based on several factors, among which include age, educational history, and the percentage of school year already completed and still remaining at CPA.

Student Support Services

  • At the time of application, for students entering Grade K or above, the school will reach a determination as to whether the student requires EAL services. This determination is reached at the sole discretion of the school and is a condition of enrollment.

  • All students entering Grade 1 or above who are assessed by the school as requiring EAL services at “beginning”, “progressing”, or “intermediate” level are required to pay an annual EAL service fee.

This applies both to new students entering Grade K or above, or returning students who have completed Kindergarten at the school.

  • The EAL service fee is $2000.00 per year. The EAL service fee is payable in full or on the same schedule as annual tuition fees. The service fee will be prorated for students entering during the year according to the same schedule as the annual tuition fees. The service fee will not be refunded for students leaving during the school year.

GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS AND SUBSIDIES

  • CPA participates in the CAPS and GSNG Support Fund ( Grants for Supplemental Scholarships.

  • Households must meet certain income requirements to be eligible for these grants.
